Who uses one? Where did you buy it from? TIA. Thinking about buying one...

I bought a pressure cooker from an Indian supply store in Petone. The pressure cookers your mothers and grandmothers used were probably labelled "Empire Made" and made in India.Pressure cookers are very popular there.

Fagor...one of the largest selling and came out top in an Australian consumer test.

I still use an old UK manufactured "Prestige" pressure cooker...Must be about 35 years old by now and I wouldn't be without it - particularly for winter soups/stews and steamed suet steak & kidney puds.

That Prestige (along with Hawkins) is one of those that we thought were UK brands, but have been made in India for many years. http://prestigesmartkitchen.com/about-us-page-1

Fortunately, I have had mine long enough to own the genuine UK article. So sad when so many companies deem it necessary to go off shore and dilute the brand.

Mine is one of the Original Prestige cookers, made in the UK.Can't speak for the newer ones made overseas, mine was a wedding present over 40 years ago and it's still serving us well.

Not 100% sure about Prestige although their website says they have been operating (in India) for 5 decades, but I think Hawkins was originally an Indian brand. Are you 100% sure that what you have is not a quality product made in India?

From what I have read pressure cookers are far more widely used in India than in many western countries.http://www.hawkinscookers.com/3.1.1.in_the_beginning.html

Absolutely sure, if it had been made offshore, I would not have had it this long.It would have been long gone by now.
