batter won't stick unless you deep fry it 1st, maybe a dip long enough to make it stick then bake them...but if you just batter and bake it will fall off.

Just make an original hotdog with the bread bun, tomato sauce or mustard and the sausage. No extra fat involved. You can even add a lettuce leaf maybe ...

this is a low fat recipe, and once youve tried them im sure youll have them no other way;my family love these...

soda dough bread
1c milk
1tsp vinegar
2c flour
1/2 tsp salt
11/4tsp cream of tartar
3/4 tsp baking soda

preheat oven to 210
mix together the milk and the vinegar and set aside to sour.
in a bowl sift flour, salt cream of tartar and baking soda
slowly add the soured milk and mix to make a dough
you dont want the dough too wet otherwise it will be to heavy, turn dough oout onto a lightly floured board and kneed lightly.press or rollout and cut into 4 squares
lay frankfurter across diagonally and sprinkle over cheese and precooked onion, add mustard and tomato sauce sprinkle a bit more cheese over the top and pop onto a baking tray with baking paper on
bake at 210 for aprox 10-12 mins or until the crust is golden
makes 4 xtra lge frankfurter rolls
1 per person
enjoy...
