pot roast in a clockpot..what can i add to the pot?? thanks

I usually put in any root veges eg parsnips, carrots, onion, garlic just put a little water in bottom and cook on low - usually put on in morning before I go to work and lovely. Dont put any flavourings as the veges and meat will be the lovely flavour

I brown the meat well then add to the slow cookerthen fry an onion in the same pan with maybe some garlic then deglaze with half a cup of red wine then pour that over the meat in the pot. I also add 4 fresh bay leaves and a few sprigs of rosemary or thyme. I cook for 4 hours on high or 5-6 on low (with my cooker, they do vary a little) Make a gravy with the juices of which there will be plenty.
