suziebee, Dec 4, 5:49pm
My daughter is visiting from London for Christmas and is Dairy and yeast intolerant. Does anyone have an easy yeast free bread recipe please. Any other recipes would be appreciated as well. Thank you.

Can she drink beer? If so look up Jo Seagers Beer bread recipe, very easy. I have also made it using ginger beer and added a mashed banana. This bread is great toasted.

Thanks, sorry I have not checked in before now. I think beer is out but ginger beer sounds good. I was thinking about doing some thing with a mixture of grains.

Sourdough is yeast. Ginger beer is fermented with yeast. Cornbread is not.
Things like tortilla has no yeast.
Irish soda bread has no yeast.
You can make a naan without yeast:

2 cups plain flour
1/2 tsp salt
50g butter
185 ml milk
1/2 tbsp oil (for cooking)

Combine butter and milk and heat until butter is just melted - on stove or in microwave.
Combine 2 cups flour, salt, butter and milk.
Sprinkle work surface with flour then knead for a few minutes until it is smooth - it doesn't need much kneading. Add extra flour if the dough is too sticky.
Wrap with cling wrap and rest at room temperature for 30 minutes or so.
Dust bench top with flour, cut dough into 4 pieces, roll into balls, then roll out into about 1/8" / 0.3cm thick rounds.
Heat oil in a non stick pan over medium heat
Place one flatbread in the pan, cook for around 1- 1 1/2 minutes - it should bubble up then flip and cook the other side, pressing down if it puffs up.
Continue to cook with remaining pieces.

Most continuous brewed beer these days are chemically brewed and do not contain yeast. Watch the craft ones they would have yeast.
