Does anyone have a tried and true tomato sauce recipe? I have searched through this site (maybe not thoroughly enough) I was going to make relish but don't have many jars but have an abundance of bottles. TIA

This is the easiest & tastiest recipe that I use and my family loves it: 5.4 kg ripe tomatoes 1.4 kg sugar 860 ml vinegar 85g salt 85g whole allspice tied in a muslin bag or 40g ground allspice added to pot
Wash & cut tomatoes, add other ingredients and boil for 3 hours, stirring frequently. Strain out skin & seeds if desired. Bottle when cold.
If the quantities look odd, it's because I've converted the recipe from old imperial measurements.
