I didn't write any of this below, but worth passing on for the story alone I thought. nor have I tried them,
Xmas Biscuits A funny story. “Mom” had a Christmas Cookie recipe she would not give to the family. “Over my dead body” she would say so when she passed the family had the recipe etched into the back of her gravestone! I made the cookies yesterday, iced them with cream cheese frosting and added coloured sprinkles — just for a family with a sense of humour and in memory of a Mom who wouldn’t share!
1cup sugar 1/2 cup butter 2 eggs 1 tsp vanilla 3 cups flour 3 teaspoons baking powder 1 teaspoon salt 1 cup cream
Cream the butter and sugar, beat in the eggs and vanilla. Sift dry ingredients and add to the dough alternating with the cream. Form dough into two long sausages, wrap in plastic film and chill. Cut into 1/4” slices. Bake at 180 deg C until turning golden brown. Frost when cool.
