Can you make it instead of ginger ale with ginger beer? Also if you have a good recipe for this kind of fruit cake ,please share.

from Columbus Coffee Whangarei ginger beer fruit cake 1kg of mixed fruit 750ml of ginger beer 3 cups of self raising flour
soak fruit in the ginger beer overnight next day stir in the flour pour into a lined and greased cake tin bake at 150 degrees for an hour or until a skewer comes out dry

The difference? Ginger beer is actually brewed and fermented while ginger ale is essentially a carbonated beverage made from water and ginger. Ginger beer often has much more of a "gingery" flavor and because it's fermented, is less carbonated.

grate some green ginger about a thick thumb sized bit and put it in the corner of a linen tea towel squeese it as hard as you can into your fruit cake you will get the ginger taste ,ive had bakes go drippy over it in cakes you get about 2/3 tea spoons of juice
