Just bought a vege spiraliser off TM.

I bought one exactly like that off fishpond and found the exact same thing. I chucked it out!

have you tried this one? I've heard good things http://www.stevens.co.nz/product/Noodler-Spiral-Vegetable-Slicer?p=5944978

Saw that at Stevens, looks efficient but not really an option, small kitchen, tiny bench space, I think I'll stick with the hand-held one, just need to learn to keep fingers out of the way, lol! I do love the vegenoodles tho!

Review for the Stevens one was pretty poor, too.

I bought the $10 stevens one. It's crap.

I have a device like the one in the first post (looks identical, but different brand), and have no problems with it. What technique do you use (lol)?

I'm right-handed: Hold slicer in left hand, vegetable in right. Insert tip of vegetable. Rotate vegetable in clockwise direction. Hey presto. noodles.

An ordinary potato peeler does a good job too, and may be easier to use; you can slice the peelings into narrower strips if so desired.

I bought one of these recently at a home & garden show. Blimmin' marvellous! $20 for 2, "plus wait, there's more" stuff as well. And its small and fits in a drawer!

Yep I have one of those - awesome for peeling pumpkin but find the julienne option a bit patchy in its effectiveness

I bought one on line off TM a couple of years ago, also useless. just ok for softer veg but won't do carrots, which is what I wanted to make at the time- carrot spirals , epic fail.

Am very happy with the smaller grater blade for carrots and marrow (instead of using zucchini). Don't use the bigger blade. Also discovered the spiraliser did a super job if I used bigger carrots and marrow- ones that just fit into the spiraliser. It does exactly what I wanted it to do- makes interesting long spiral shapes, a variation I wanted for for stirfries and salads.

I bought one of the following on Jo Seagar's recommendation after watching her at a show and it's brilliant. Mum has one too and loves it . easy to use despite her arthritic hands.

I just found the same gadjet. They are the top of the line at the moment by the look of things.

these are brilliant.

yep i found it crap my spiralizer n threw it out - i use the julienne peeler from stevens for carrots n courgettes its great

accroul, Jul 5, 6:03pm
I have a julienne peeler from Stevens too. I stab my veg with a fork to use a a handle and holding the fork also keeps my hand out of the way of those sharp 'teeth'.

This looks good Winnie. I have a handheld peeler/juilienne peeler which works well but like the extra cutting choices of the zyliss.

Veggie Spiraliser and Veggie Twister have been on grab one and other outlets for a few months now. I have read here that most buyers thought they were no good.

Apparently they do not sell like hotcakes anymore and so now you get both together for "only" $15 plus freight.

Is it a good buy?

Have you bought one or the other and can tell me how good they are?
Ease of use, are they really making lovely long threads? Or shall I continue to use my shredder?

The "discussion" on the site is not positive.
