i am going to try and make a tart . the recipe says to use ground almond. i have almond meal in my pantry, can i use this instead! thx

Almond meal and ground almonds are the same thing.Just different names for the same product.

If you have had the almond meal for a while, I would check that it is still ok. It goes rancid easily.Best kept in the fridge or freezer.

thx geldof i didnt know that. yes i have kept it in the pantry. now transferring to fridge. no, still good. thx. tart came out beautiful but i think the almond meal makes it quite rich. did a lemon yoghurt cake with it tooand i prefer the version without the almond meal. thx and cheers

I buy my almond meal in 1kg bags and just keep it in the freezer and take out what I need. It doesn't freeze in a big clump which is good and is still quite powdery so you can extract it easily.if that makes sense!
