Anyone who has ever been interviewed knows what power an editor has over the material and if you have any nous, you ask for a transcript before publication.

For these [mostly] young people, it will be the first time they have had an experience of being manipulated by media.

I would not be surprised to see this re-scheduled to a much later time, this series is the worst yet.I am so pleased I record it and can wizz through all the rubbishy bits - only takes about 15 minutes to watch it though!

doll53, Mar 14, 5:04pm
The contestants are lacking some what this series.

pickles7, Mar 14, 5:29pm
Do people still watch such trash !

rainrain1, Mar 14, 10:20pm
yep!what trash do you watch!

rainrain1, Mar 14, 10:21pm
I thought that too

bedazzledjewels, Mar 14, 10:54pm
Unless they've learnt to hide their talents for later - which I somehow doubt!

strebor1, Mar 15, 1:10am
Well if they are the best of the bunch that auditioned (and not necessarily so), I doubt there will be another series.

bedazzledjewels, Mar 15, 1:15am
Maybe they should hand it over to the kids and have a Junior Masterchef instead.

strebor1, Mar 15, 1:34am
Well the thing is that there are much better cooks in New Zealand, and it is a very attractive prize, I am surprised that this is the best they could come up with.

twindizzy, Mar 15, 1:37am
Seriously- the top 5 in that would blitz anyone on this show !

toffeey, Mar 15, 1:42am
Junior Masterchef was sensational. I loved that so many of the kids had been taught by their Nanas and were so talented.

bedazzledjewels, Mar 15, 2:02am
It was special, for sure. I think they've made a third series of Junior Masterchefin Australia!

nfh1, Mar 15, 3:29am
I loved that one, fabulous programme.I wonder if we will get more here!

holly-rocks, Mar 15, 5:19am
I lost interest last season, even though I knew 2 contestants. Much prefer My kitchen rules these days!

strebor1, Mar 15, 5:32am
Yes but some of those cooks shouldn't be in a cooking competition either, so I guess the standard is dropping all over the place.

bedazzledjewels, Mar 17, 12:11am
Tonight it's the Last Supper. There should be some good cooking, surely!

lodgelocum, Mar 17, 12:24am
Haha, here's hoping! For my last supper, think it would be crayfish and lemon meringue pie.

bedazzledjewels, Mar 17, 12:26am
I think I'd just get Michael Meredith or Heston to cook for me!

lodgelocum, Mar 17, 12:32am
I might choose Rick Stein, he's the seafood king!

davidt4, Mar 17, 12:38am
I'm half way through reading it and sadly he's no writer (or he has an editor with a particularly pedestrian style). The food is very much run-of-the-mill Spanish, with a few Basque dishes, and he makes some awful suggestions like boiling chorizo instead of frying it (to make it "healthier").All in all I'm disappointed, but it might be of interest to cooks who know nothing about Spanish food.

elliehen, Mar 17, 12:43am
With all the Last Supper connotations of imminent death, I think some people might look for comfort foods ;)

lodgelocum, Mar 17, 12:47am
Still be happy to have them.

bedazzledjewels, Mar 17, 12:48am
What would you have Ellie! (Genuinely interested. ;-))
DT4 - maybe his next cookbook (if he does one) might be better.

elliehen, Mar 17, 12:56am
My comfort food would be a bowl of split pea soup or a poached egg on mashed potato.I'd eat lightly the night before the Rapture ;)
