Simple really. When he entered the competition, he was a school teacher. Since the competition he has been earning a living full time in the food game. So most people would learn something more if they were indulging in the game full time.

That is a thought of course LOL - means though that the person involved is open to learn new things :)

rainrain1, Feb 12, 10:52pm
please give us one of your wonderful recipes strebor1, I would love to try something amazing

strebor1, Feb 12, 11:09pm
Yes I will, thanks for asking me. I am going away first thing in the morning, but will put a recipe on for you next week when I return. Love the quote on your profile, can I pinch it! Lol.

strebor1, Feb 12, 11:10pm
There is a lot I could say to that, but I might get into trouble!

rainrain1, Feb 12, 11:16pm
Pinch whatever you like

uli, Feb 12, 11:51pm
strebor1 - I get into trouble here all the time - welcome to the game :)

strebor1, Feb 12, 11:56pm
I was thinking I might get all the school teachers having a go at me!

uli, Feb 13, 12:00am
Why would that be!
Am I missing something here!

gingercrush, Feb 17, 2:49am
Overcooked pork chops gooooooooo Masterchef.

Anyway those that left were no great loss to me and I suspect there are still too many crappy cooks left.

mwood, Feb 17, 3:08am
Well that wasn't too painful to watch - even Gault was slightly less obnoxious.

One of the girls that made it through, Paula. We lived next door to her family many years ago on the West Coast. She came from a large family, 10 kids.

It's quite strange seeing someone you know on tv.

Nobody is really standing out at this stage so it might get interesting.
I'm pleased that the started with the skills test involving the top chefs. That's a good stage to weed them out. Most of the colourful characters have gone too.

rainrain1, Feb 17, 2:32pm
I enjoyed seeing inside those eating houses

fmgirl, Feb 17, 8:47pm
Always takes a few weeks to get going, boring in the beginning.
I'd like to see a NZ version of Celebrity and Junior Masterchef

rainrain1, Feb 17, 9:38pm
Or a round the world Amazing Race type cooking show, now that could work.couldn't it!

mwood, Feb 17, 9:51pm
Why not write the Script ! - it's probably marketable. You start with a one page Outline and test market that followed up with a 3 or 4 page Synopsis selling the Concept - whilst requesting Full or Contributing Scripting Rightsand any other perks that come to mind.

rainrain1, Feb 17, 10:03pm
I think I had better stick to gardening or making sausage meat patties.Although round the world in eighty crays .yum!

nfh1, Feb 18, 2:29am
The first couple of episodes are usually ho hum, although I must admit pork chop in the pressure cooker was a bit of a surprise!

nfh1, Feb 18, 2:40pm
What happened to mwood!

uli, Feb 18, 10:03pm
I just wondered that too in another thread all his posts were deleted.
Maybe he has joined ellie on an extended holiday!

uli, Feb 19, 3:02am
Since I have never complained to TM about any posts I AM one of the innocents LOL :)

bedazzledjewels, Feb 23, 8:17pm
I see that it's hangi time tonight. That'll be interesting. I guess more go home too.

strebor1, Feb 23, 10:21pm
I must admit I am rather disappointed in tonight's programme, or the sound of it I mean. I don't particularly like hangi food because of the lack of salt. I find it quite ironic that these judges who usually go overboard on salt, have decided to have a hangi competition. Or maybe they will be different and put their usual overkill of salt in it!

lodgelocum, Feb 23, 11:07pm
Agree Strebor1, doesn't really make sense, does it!Keep them in the kitchen and show us what they can really do!And why a hangi! instead of a kiwi BBQ which I am sure is more popular. No favourites as yet!
