Okonomiyaki and Takoyaki. I haven't been to many Japanese restaurants but I love the renkon restaurant in Parnell. With Japanese food especially take-away stuff like sushi, sushimi, teriyaki chicken etc. i always wonder how much of that is really japanese or whether it is mostly westernised Japanese food.

mostly its real japanese food and you can buy most of it on the Ginsa but there is a whole lot more :)
My favourite was an eel cooked on a Hibatchi at the table didn't expect the dude to kill clean and skewer the eel at the table as well now thats fresh fish :)
Treat yourself go visit Japan I love the place and the people.

Sushi here is very westernised.You should try Toshi in Remuera mall - cheap as and oh so YUMMY!A tiny family business, they are lovely people!
