What's the easiest and quickest way to get the seeds out - we used to use a pin to eat them with when we were kids but it's gonna take me forever to do a whole one!
i cut mine n half cover the cut side with hand then tap on the outside of the skin with the back of the spoon. Most seeds just pop out.but maybe someone has a better way.

That looks a lot easier then doing them all individually

I don't think that would've worked with the one I had at the weekend - the seeds were far too tightly packed but I happy to try anything so that I can use them for more than just eating as they are

That's what I do too, but I use a wooden mallet.Just keep tapping and after a few minutes the seeds will start to fall out.

I wonder what Nigella does because she seems to use them in a lot of her Christmas recipes

She probably has them hand-extracted and delivered from Harrods.

Jamie Oliver gave a demonstration in one of his cooking programmes. It's probably on YouTube.Looked incredibly easy at the time.
She cuts them in half then bashes the back with a rolling pin. I tried it and it works very well. But yes in real life she probably does have them delivered by Harrods ;)

I just cut them in half and hit it around the outter skin with the ice cream scoop into a high side bowl and they just fall out :0)
Seems a shame to waste the juice like that (or as she calls it "messy juices").

Yeah - I agree, the juice is yummy.I think I might try bashing them into a sieve over a bowl so that I get the seeds and juice separated as well.

"Messy juices!" Chortle! Yep, I use the wooden spoon tapping technique too.

Well cutting it in half and bashing with a wooden spoon worked but I must remember next time to use a wider, shallower bowl and put the pomegranate in the bowl so that I don't bash myself - was also kind of "splashy" so thank goodness the juice only seems to stain hands/nails and not bench tops!

I use the wooden spoon way too - far easier
