Breville Deep Fryer

I have one of these, minus a manual on how to use it.
I was told that you just pour the oil in on top of the elements!Surely not! That sounds like it would cause a fire or electric shock!
Do they not have a container that the oil would go into!
Thanks kindly

Not sure what model you have, Here is a link to a instruction manual for one, have a read of it. I have one like this and just tip the oil in on top of he element till it reaches the max mark about 1/2 way up the container on the side there is a line as a guide for the amount of oil to use.

Thats right for the Breville deep fryer - the oil is just poured in to the max mark on the inner tub of the fryer on top of the elements.
