i would like to slice raw onions to freeze for my elderly mother to make her soups. has anyone done this, i wasnt sure if i could freeze them. i grate wee bags raw carrots for her soup also chop and freeze raw celeryfor her as her wrists arent strong anymore.they freeze great. .

Onions freeze well (unless you were to use them in a salad ie raw). ETA you can pretty much freeze any vegetable if it's going in a soup

i saw a bag for sale at Reduced to Clear. so it must be possible.
Good idea, and probably reduces the tears when cooking (but not when cutting!)

I chop and freeze onion a lot, so easy to throw into soup, no defrosting neccessary!
