Mine never come out crisp like the bought ones. Anybody have a recipe that is tried & true & crisp. Thanks

I find the Edmonds the best and I have been making them for many years now.I make up a dozen small one and freeze them. Then all they need is a couple of minutes in a hot oven and bingo, lovely Yorkshire puddings.

You can buy in the supermarket and they are pretty good.Imported from the UK.

The supermarket ones are great, nice and crisp. Can also be used as a base for sauce fillings. eg I make an asparagus in white suace and its lovely in them.

Make sure your oil is smoking before putting the batter in. Also make the batter 30 minutes before you need to use it.

And a hot oven - I always put mine as high up in the oven as I can so they're in the hottest part but the hot oil makes a huge difference.Use an oil with a high burn temperature (or whatever they call it) - coconut oil would be good
