Yes. Just allow them to thaw on a cake rack, not in a plastic box.

Sorry for late reply. Yes fine to freeze in plastic container, the reason for letting them thaw in the open is about the wetness. Their papers and the icing will have too much moisture on them, so let them thaw on the cake rack.
