APPLE TURNOVER WITH CUSTARD INSIDE

Morning. Hope you all warm and cosy. Thort i mite make these for tea tonight (everyone gets sick of meat so we have pudding for tea once a fortnight) Anyway, question is, do i cook the apples first or just slice them on pastry with sugar and cinnamon on top (blob of custard on top of that)Oooh, and is flakey pastry best.Yep i think thats it.Cheers all

Flakey pastry is the best, IMO.Especially with an egg wash then sprinkled with sugar.
I love apples sliced and caramelised with butter and sugar and then put into pastry.
If you put raw apples in you run the risk of the juice making your pastry soggy, unless you add some ground almonds or semolina to soak it up.
