Can you store homemade perserves

On a regular shelf in the kitchen (ie: normal light) or does it have to be kept in a cupboard (ie: dark).Could you please enlighten me before I potentially spoil all my hard work!!Thanks in advance,.

In a cupboard best but I have stored preserves in the garage on a shelf when space inside at a premium.

Print paper wrap around labels on your computer and stick those on the jars to keep the light out.
