Red wine, does it keep?

We are making a venison, mushroom and red wine pie, it is the first time we have ever cooked with red wine and only used a cup.We don't drink it so will it keep!

If it is in a screwcap bottle, which most wine is these days, just screw the top back on firmly, even better if you have one of those devices that sucks air out of bottles. If youonly want to use it for cooking keep it in the fridge.

so would I

Most people keep left overs for cooking. however a the golden rule is if you wouldnt drink it yourself. dont cook with it!

I don't think that applies to non-wine drinkers :-)

Oxygen is the enemy of wine.Red less so than white.I've never frozen wine, but it sounds like a good idea for wine for cooking.I'd be looking at using it fairly soon if keeping it in the bottle. When cask wine was intoduced one of the selling points was that air did ot get in to oxidise the wine. However manufacturers generally put the rubbish in casks.
