my son loves sushi so i thought i would give it an 'amateur' go - got some sushi rice/sushi powder/mat and a packet of toasted seaweed for sushi its like a green colour not like the dark one you get when you have sushi - anyway its dry and doesnt seem like you would be able to easily eat it around the sushi - am i supposed to do something to it before rolling it - or just roll as is! thanks.

It will soften once you put the warm rice on it

The nori will soften and be darker in colour from the moisture of the vinegared rice. I love homemade sushi with salmon and avocado filling and a touch of japanese mayo.
