Facts and direct experience will get you into trouble on this messageboard every time richard198.Ill-informed provincialism tends to dominate.Good luck! and I hope to read more of your posts in the new year.

so the recipe you gave was incorrect then!

"The authority of those who teach is often an obstacle to those who want to learn."part of the reason so many not so confident cooks dont come in here. There is a vast difference between directness and rudeness.

Education is an admirable thing, but it is well to remember from time to time that nothing that is worth knowing can be taught.

Thank you! It was never my intention to insult anyone, yet the workshop dobermann appeared to spring to someone's rescue even though they didn't know they needed it!

cookessentials, Dec 26, 9:24am
Still being incredibly rude. the first poster of their version actually answered you, however, you were so busy patting yourself and davidt on the back for your authentic recipes, maybe you missed it.

"Some Mexican households mix guacamole with tuna fish. This is a regional dish and is only eaten in some parts of Mexico. Other places mix guacamole with sour cream or salsa to either cool the flavor or add an extra zing to it. No matter how you like to eat your guacamole, making fresh, homemade guacamole is always the best. This way you know that it is going to be flavorful and exactly how you like it! "

The thread has been done to death. Embrace different recipes and "takes"it makes for a more interesting life.

Ode to Guacamole

A guacamaya mashes the chartreuse
cream
ripened in darkness,
infusion of sun on the tongue,

seasons the aguacate, the Aztec's ahuacatl
with the Mexican tricolor:
irrepressible tomato fireworks,
onion's white bite,
proclamations of salt,
streams of lime's tart retorts,
impetuous pinches
of chile.

¡Prueba!

Ill informed provincialism!. Haha what a hoot, so you spend everyday contributing to a msg board, that's primary feature is selling second hand goods, that the rest of the members are "provincial". That is the most stupid comment ive read. I think you would be suprised. What a silly old numpty - get a clue.

lyl_guy, Dec 26, 8:40pm
That sounds REALLY pompous.Where do you think you are!Le Cordon Bleu message board!Reality check, please Garçon!

I am glad that "People here know how I am"or in this case of quoting you - how YOU are.
And I am equally glad that they have no clue how or even who I AM!

And I also have nothing to hide LOL :)

One day I might wander into the non-existent cook shop of yours and buy something - and you wouldn't even know it was me.

And now back to the Guacamole.

So which one was the "real" - the "authentic" recipe!

uli, Dec 27, 1:25am
Not sure what you are trying to say here - but if you have ever met the poster you are trying to put down here - or tasted any of her cooking then you might change your mind. You would be in for a treat - and a "reality check" of your own.

lyl_guy, Dec 27, 2:03am
I wasn't putting anyone down.I said that what was said sounded really pompous. and it does, by any stretch of the imagination.I'm sorry if you can't understand what I was saying.but it seems very plain to me.

lyl_guy, Dec 27, 2:07am
. and you really need to read the original post. They were asking for "a good recipe for guacamole to be used as a dip".Not for THE authentic recipe, and ONLY the authentic recipe. gosh this is a funny thread! Why can't people accept other's versions of recipes! If an "authentic" recipe had been asked for, then all this angst would perhaps be understandable.

cookessentials, Dec 27, 3:31am
Mmm, I wouldnt be too sure of that. What, prey tell, is a cook shop! is it a shop that sells cooks!

cookessentials, Dec 27, 3:40am

uli, Dec 27, 4:24am
I am not sure how far YOUR English stretches - but when I am asked as to a recipe (and the name is given) then I give that recipe.

So if someone asks for a guacamole recipe then I will give a recipe for that.

If someone asks for a recipe for any old "dip" then I will give a recipe for that.

Now if you all want to change the recipe for guacamole into something else - GREAT! BUT DO tell us others who still think you wanted a recipe for guacamole!

Because if you wanted any old recipe which included rescuing any old rotting avocadoes . well we could give you some .
