even slightly hot! No heat whatsoever, anyone know why this could be!

Chillis vary enormously.Usually the smaller they are the hotter, but there are exceptions.If you post a photo someone can probably identify them.

are you sure they are a chilli and not a capsicum!if you want a good flavoured chilli with good heat then grow habenero chillis.they make the best salsa etc.they are also excellent smoked and made into chipotle
