Soggy Pie!

If I make bacon and egg pie today, is there any way to stop it being soft tomorrow!

use pie pastry at the bottom or short crust-- not puff.
and don't add tomatoes

Ahhh. I use puff pastry top and bottom.Cheers for that.

As for tomatoes. its bacon and egg pie, no tomatoes, no peas, nothing but bacon and eggs! lol

Ive always done the 'little bit of grated cheese sprinkled on the bottom' trick and its ALWAYS works :) You dont taste the cheese and it really keeps it crispy!

Edit to add, I only use puff as well :)

I reckon! ;-)

It's an ongoing argument in our house, my partner thinks there should be peas in it.Sacrilege!

If we eat it straight out of the oven it's lovely and crisp pastry. But I'm making it to take out tomorrow, and by then it's always gone soggy.

So you sprinkle the cheese on the bottom of the dish, or on the bottom layer of pastry!

Bottom layer of pastry before you put your bacon and eggs in :)
