Ice block sticks: supermarkets, craft stores and book stores, bulk stores (Trents).
Round bamboo skewers of various lengths are found at asian food stores.

You can get them from cake decorating shops, don't know if they would have that quantity tho.

Ice block sticks are flat. The skewers for toffee apples are thick and round ( like a straw in shape, but solid) you need them like this to get through the apple without breaking. They also usually have a pointed tip for ease of insertion.
