Low acid foods, are not easy to bottle. You will need a recipe from someone who has bottled pumpkin soup. I personally would not bottle pumpkin. There must be room to slide a bit more in the freezer.

I wouldn't bottle it either, due to the low acidity.. however, your friend could store the pumpkin/s in a cool and dry place - a garage, shed, etc.. place it/them on netting or something that will let air around the whole pumpkin. Check regularly to ensure it's not starting to rot at all.
