I have just made this cake and the batter seems awfully runny? Has anyone made this cake before? It's for a birthday morning tea tomorrow and I don't fancy starting from scratch with something else!

It's OK - I found the recipe on the TVNZ website and it says the batter is runny. Phew!

I made his banana cake - mixture was runny -it was a disaster. Twice!

I cooked it for longer than the recipe stated and it still turned out very gooey in the middle & not very sweet like a cake should be. I think if I made it again I'd use brown sugar and a bigger tin. It kind of turned out like really really moist mudcake.
