wow Vodka... Thats a very Irish spirit to use isn't it?

rainrain1, Mar 16, 6:06am
Make jelly as directed on packet except you use only 80% of liquid, 40% hot water and 40% vodka... . St Patricks Day... green jelly to be sure... Cheers :-)

rainrain1, Mar 16, 6:12am
Hope that makes sense... ... 80% of liquid all up ! !

purplegoanna, Mar 16, 6:53am
I do a 50/50 mix but as above said only use 80% of the liquid suggested on the pkt, make clear lemonade jelly + vodka ones with a green jelly babie in the middle.

Sounds like a whole lot of fun to me :-)

If you go half and half then the taste is so strong they are unpleasant to shot. I would go with 2/3hot water and 1/3 vodka. And wait for the hot water to cool, someone told me that the heat makes the vodka evaporate.

DON'T ADD the spirit until the rest has reached blood temperature otherwise the spirit will evaporate. You will only have the spirit flavour, but in some cases that should be sufficient.
Spirit starts evaporating at 78 c.
