2 cakes at once?

kirstybrooks, Feb 3, 3:02am
Hi, just wondering if it is possible to bake 2 cakes at once in the oven? Would it work? Thanks!

no problems at all, put them in the middle of the oven and both on the same tray, if at the top it could cook the top too much and at the bottom the bottom can get burnt! ! - I always load up my oven when its on and juggle them about a bit.

Great, thanks so much! Would the cooking time remain the same? Or just keep testing? :)

About the same, but keep testing. Do you have Fan Bake? With that you can load your oven with heaps.

No just plain bake. Will that mean I can't?

if you have a fan bake it tends to place the head evenly so no burns on top or bottom, just put in middle of oven and look for the cake tocome away from the side and when you press your finger on the top it should spring back, also a skewer into the middle if it comes out clean its cooked or if it comes out with dough it still not done.

you can still with no fan bake , but keep an eye on them and rotate the tins if you see they are cooking a little unevenly
