Bugger, I have just started to make shortbread

and grab what I thought was corn flour but it is baking soda, can I use custard powder instead?

paghan, I can't advise you from personal experience but IMO..... yes, use your custard powder which is principally cornflour with added colouring and flavouring - obviously your shortbread would have a different colour and flavour but I'd happily partake in a piece or two of it, if I had the opportunity.

Thanks 245sam, just got them out of the oven, and they are very yummy, they have the same texture as shortbread, just a custard taste ;)
