I made the one with orange juice it was yukkkkky, you can throw any amount of spices at it, it will still be yukkkkky. So yukkkky. I would not waste the orange juice again, let alone the fruit, and power to warm it through.

I remember mum use to make a xmas cake similar to the above. How ever instead of orange juice she used ginger ale. Was always yummy

Each to their own. I only made it the once, it was quite nice but more fruit than cake. Might try it again but adjust the quantities.

If the cake part is only flour bound together with juice that has leeched out of the fruit, and some spice, I thought that the more fruit than cake comment was a positive
