I normally use tumeric, cumin, garam masala, ginger, garlic, coriander ... in no particular order or measurement - just to taste

So many people think curry powder is the powder from one plant, when in fact it's a combination of spices. darlingmole's sounds great, but don't forget the heaped tsp of chilli, if not more :-) :-)

Curry powder is rarely used in India, as individual spices are used in different proportions and combinationsfor each dish.There is a very nice Sri Lankan curry powder that I make however, but you need to use it in the Sri Lankan way and not just add it to a stew.
