I have a cheesecake brownie recipe I want to try, that calls for sour cream - can anyone tell me whether I could substitute with plain greek yoghurt instead?

Yes you can. There are many recipes for cakes & sweet treats that are identical except that some use sour cream & some use yoghurt.
