half fill a bowl with water, add half a teaspoon on vanilla essence and boil inside MW for a couple of minutes. Leave for 10 mina nd clean. It will help, but time is your friend really. I burnt popcorn in the MW once and had to replece the machine lol. Mind you mine burst into flames.

An oil burner in the room with Lavender oil works, but does take a while to get rid of the smell.

Time sadly is what it takes. You could try coffee they say it is a known smell absorber. 2 tablespoons ground coffee in 1/2 cup water in a cup sit inside a microwave bowl for spills, zap 2 mins then remove watch as it will be hot, repeat if necessary.
