BTW, although you're not supposed to double-dip, for hygiene's sake, most children - and some uncaring adults - DO! So stay away from dips on Mother's Day, everyone... or you'll regret it later ;)

I agree a platter is perfect for an afternoon supping wine, but I have very simple tastes myself and apart from the cheese, bread and spicy meat products I wouldn't eat any of that. Sad but true... and YES, I know what I'm missing out on.

battgirl, if you run out of time to make something, another perfect accompaniment for an afternoon supping wine is a good dukkah, extra-virgin olive oil and little ciabatta chunks.
