I'm planning to make this recipe from the Countdown web page 
Ingredients 
 3 Tbsp vegetable oil 
1 large onion, peeled and finely chopped 
3 Tbsp ginger, peeled and finely chopped 
2 Tbsp cumin seeds 
½ tsp ground cinnamon 
½ tsp ground turmeric 
2 x 420g Select chickpeas, drained 
2 x 400g Homebrand diced tomatoes 
Salt 
Freshly ground black pepper 
2 cups Homebrand long grain rice, cooked according to packet instructions 
4 cloves garlic, peeled and finely chopped 
Large pinch chilli flakes 
½ cup coriander, coarsely chopped plus extra to garnish 
4 Tbsp plain yoghurt

2 Tbsp cumin seeds sounds like a lot? I've got a 31gm container. 
I'm not used to these herbs etc but I'm trying to utilize pulses.          
              2 tab of cumin seeds does seem like a lot. I would try 2 tsp as it may be a typo.

              I would use that amount of ginger because we really like the flavour, but it wouldn't hurt to cut back.
