Definitely the freezer - it'll prevent them from going soft, stale and rancid. Also, just by-the-by.open bags of potato chips always stay fresh and crisp if kept in the freezer.

Because they do have a short shelf life and the processors are expecting that they will be bought and eaten within that time frame.

I have a large bag of mixed nuts. This will last me some time. Do I store them in an airtight container in the pantry or in a similar container in the fridge!

And if you freeze Almonds in the shell, they will grow very well. I did this years ago, everyone grew. But, I only got three out of 20 that turned out to be almonds. The others grew a very nice peaches. A well worth while exercise if you have heaps of space. I think my trees fruited in there 4Th or 5Th years. The almonds took 3 years longer to hold the nuts.
I have forgotten how long I froze them for, I am thinking 3 days.
