supercook, I'm not sure if this is the slice you're wanting - this is the recipe as shown on “Good Morning” in 2004 and made by Graham Wilkinson.
APRICOT CHOCOLATE CARAMEL SLICE Base: 1½ cups flour 1 tsp baking powder ½ cup brown sugar 125g butter, melted
Combine the dry ingredients, then add the melted butter and mix well. Press the mixture into a baking paper-lined 27cm x 18cm tin.
Filling: 75g butter ¼ cup (85g) golden syrup 1 x 397g can sweetened condensed milk ¼ cup coarsely chopped apricots – or use e.g. dates, dried mango pieces
Place the butter and golden syrup in a saucepan. Bring to the boil, stirring. Remove from heat, stir in the condensed milk and apricots. Pour the filling over the base, then evenly place on top
¼ cup each of Milk Melts and White Melts – 17 or 18 of each
Bake at 180ºC for 30 minutes. Allow to cool and cut into pieces. To decorate, drizzle with melted chocolate. Makes 24 pieces.
Is very sweet but a real caramel-lovers' temptation. :-))

Bah humbug, darned iPad thingy and stupid operator.
There are other recipes as well, just do a search in the past year for dried apricots, condensed milk and have a good read. Hopefully you'll find what you're after :)

Apricot Fudge (sorry about the old measurements, Mum's old recipe) Melt together (don't burn) 4oz butter 3oz brown sugar 1/2 tin condensed milk When melted add 1 packet crushed wine biscuits and 1c chopped dried apricots. Press into a sponge roll tin and sprinkle with coconut. Leave to set before slicing.
