Could you use an old stainless pot for smoking?

Just curious - if you could get the bbq hot enough, could you use this in conjunction with an old saucepan to smoke small pieces of chicken, for example!

Hot smoked or cold! Cold - no. It should have no heat at all.

I smoked a pork belly in an old electric frypan, using woodchips and a rack, can't see any reason why you could not in a pot on the bbq or stove. Very long and slow cooking though and the pork belly was dry cured in the fridge for a week first, Just google.
