way back (prob early 70's), when I was in the Brownies we had a cook off competition making Bata Buns, does anyong remember these or possibly have a recipe!, from memory they were probably a bit like a rock cake with the top dipped in sugar before baking. TIA

I was a brownie in the early 70's.Don't remember any cooking though (too long ago)What you describe sounds a bit like sugar buns - yellow round, almost scone-like!

hi, I do remember doing these, but cant remember the recipe, recall them being a bit more cakier than a rock cake though
They were really just lightish rock buns. Mine were not so light, I suspect.
