My copy of this book is in a "safe place" (ie I haven't got a clue where it is, despite having the other 2in front of me).In it there is a note about cooking chickpeas in the crock pot.I remember it was for a few hours, but I can't remember how long or at what setting.
I have also used the 'search' function, and while I have some new ways of using c/peas, (thanks people) I couldn't find the info I'm looking for.
Can someone help please!

Here you are calista.
From Simon & Alison Holst's "100 great ways to use slow cookers & crockpots" :
"Chickpeas should be cooked in 4-5 hours on HIGH".
Hope that helps.:-))

Thanks Sam -that explains why they're not as soft as they should be.I guess the recipe for chickpea loaf will be tea *tomorrow*night then.
Back to ransacking the cupboards for tonight's tea.

You can just cook them in a standard pot on the stove! Put them in hot water and bring to boil then simmer for about 45-60mins. If you have -'started' them they possibly won't take more than 20-30 mins simmering!
