Who has made their own sweet canaloni shells?

I would like to try these stuffed with whipped cream and custard mixed, with fresh berries or fruit finely chopped and mixed through. They can be made by wrapping sweet pastry around a canaloni shell and deep frying. Then removing the canaloni shell.Anyone done these before?

You mean cannoli - the Italian dessert version of canneloni - the pasta.
I have only ever made them on some metal moulds that are specially for making them - but in theory your version using the pasta shells could work - have you Googled it for tips?
FWIW they were a fiddle to make, but yummy - if you want to cheat you can buy the proper pre-made cannoli shells at specialty Mediterranean food places if you are in one of the main centres

Thanks sarahj1 Yes I have tried the pre-made shells which is why I would now like to make them.I have found info on how to do this but was wondering if anyone had used the normal pasta shells to do this.I spose I should just give it a whirl. :)Will report back.Thx again :)
