Years ago I made some sort of dessert with a made up jelly and I think I added some stewed apple to it before it set. All I can remember is that it was really nice to eat. Anyone got any ideas?

Ma-in-law used to add blackberry jelly crystals to apples in a pie instead of sugar to make "blackberry and apple pie". but it was served hot and didn't get time to set.
