They have to add "natural flavours" to them. I wonder what they taste like! If u get the processed cheese slices they have some low fat ones!

Enjoy cheese.Fat is not our enemy-sugar is.

There are many vegan cheeses around now as well as recipes on the net.
Most will be free of saturated animal fat.

My GP seems to think that carbs are the problem :)
Maybe he is wrong and you are right.

Fat is worse than a combination of Guar gum, xantham gum and locust gum!!

rats123, I did a NZ websearch but it looks as though the only fat free cheeses currently available are the soft ones like cottage cheese.

My tutors say that sugar and processed foods are the problem as well.

angel404 - I have even met others that said their GP's (not mine) told them to cut out sugar and grains and eat low carb because their cholesterol was high. So it looks like that reality is sinking in at long last LOL :)

On the subject of imported cheese, there's been a listeria scare in Australia recently.Sometimes manufacturers get complacent.

Everything in moderation including moderation.I for one will never cut out a whole food group out of my diet.I exercise regulary and eat a bit of everything. washed down with the odd glass of bubbles. I have just had a thorough WOF at the Dr's and I had the lowest cholesterol he had seen "For a woman my age" lol - could of done without that comment.I eat well (and sometimes not so well lol) but am also blessed genetically it seems
