Dump Cake

One tin of fruit filling or mash a tin of fruit and dump in a rectangular cake pan (13x9 inches), spreading it out into an even layer, covering the bottom.
Dump a pkt of cake mix, dry, right on top of the fruit.
Spread this out evenly covering the fruit completely and try not to tamp it down too much. Cut 4 0zs of butter into 1/4 inch slices, arrange the slices all around on the top of the dry cake mix so that it will cover most of the top as it melts and spreads out.
Place into the oven at 350°F for about 30 minutes.
Surprisingly, the moisture from the fruit filling will rise up through the dry cake mix and the butter will soak down giving you a not-at-all dry, fruity-cakey dessert when it is done

pam.delilah - probably a silly question...I assume the the tin of fruit is drained first? Thanks

mash the fruit with the juice, as you want a 'wet' base for the dry mix . Hope this helps, Pam
