Is a fruit cobbler the same as a crumble?

Kind of - has pieces of scone-like dough on top of the fruit instead of crumble - when cooked it looks as though the top is "cobbled" together or like cobblestones - hence the name.

The last cobbler I made I put a jar of preserved peaches into a greased Pyrex dish, Sprinkled over that a pkt of madeira cake mixture, dry. I stirred it a little put on 50 grams of butter dotted over the top. Baked it for 45 minutes. It was very nice. It was a large dish, a liter jar of peaches.

OK ended up using a Jamie Oliver recipe, and used peaches apricots and mixed berries, was yummy, made a huge batch too. Perfect comfort food!

the cobbler is more of a scone mixture, will have less butter & sugar in it than a crunmble.

Cobbler is far superior to crumble... plus my kids hate cobbler, which leaves more for me *slurp*

Sure is, mine is nothing like a scone dough.
We wouldn't like that recipe at all.
