I am making Best ever carrot cake. I have followed instructions but my cake tin is only 21cm not 26cm. How far up should I have mixture? I will then make patty cakes with left over? Thanks

Depends on the recipe. I fill mine 3/4 full. But I have a choc cake and a fruit cake recipe that rises like crazy so only 1/2 fill the tin.

You could perhaps line the tin with newspaper so it comes up above the sides and then line with baking paper.
