Made it in a silicon ring dish rather than a square tin. Made a mandarin syrup rather than lemon. The cake looks good but the syrup is sitting on top. Pricked the top. Do you reckon the syrup will soak in. Planning on cutting it in chunks and freezing most of it.

if you poured it over while the cake was hot it should have soaked in

I did. It had mostly soaked in before I went to bed. It's in the fridge at the moment. I'll try turning it out and cutting it up later.
