I have been enjoying Shotts' lemon, honey and ginger cordial. but it's expensive. so tried Buderim ginger cordial. eeew, sickly sweet and no fire! I have made years ago my own. but I can't remember the amount of ginger I used. The recipe is 2 c sugar, 2 c water, 1 strip of lemon ( I used the rind of 1 lemon), 2 tsp cream of tartar, 1 cup lemon juice, 2 tsp honey, 1 lge ginger root <------ a bit like " how long is a piece of string! Has anybody with a love of a decent zingy hot ginger drink, made a similar cordial who can advice on what weight of fresh ginger to use. Many thanks.

I'm not holding my breath for replies. I made a batch Friday, weighed the ginger so I can adjust if need be next time. life has been so hectic, I haven't even had a chance to sample.
