please an edmonds shortcake recipe that was in one of the first edmonds books and isn,t in the newer versions

From a 1955 Edmonds book:
For Sweet Short Pastry, use the recipe for Short Pastry, adding 1 oz sugar and 1 egg yolk and water to mix.
Short Pastry
8 oz flour 1/4 tsp salt 4 oz butter, lard or margarine 1 tsp Edmonds Baking Powder Cold water to mix
Sift flour & salt; rub in the fat with tips of fingers; add baking powder and mix to a very stiff dough with a little water (if too much water is used the pastry will be tough). Roll out very lightly and do not handle more than necessary. Bake at 425 degrees Fahrenheit
